Professional Experience

    • Develop and implement strategic communication on pesticide-related topics for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention

    • Manage all communications by the Agency, including press releases, listservs, social media, press inquiries, and correspondence from the public

    • Lead a team of 5 people in all stages of the communication product development and release process

    • Create all multimedia, including graphics, photos, and videos

    • Form and lead a social media team of 10 people to develop a strategic social media presence for the division

    • Developed and implement strategic communication campaigns for the social media presence of The Graduate School at Michigan State University

    • Designed all communication products for The Graduate School, including graphics, photos, and videos of varying lengths for numerous platforms

    • Maintained the social media platforms of The Graduate School

    • Increased social media views by over 400% in under one month

    • Created content for WKAR’s 11 unique social media platforms

    • Edited the news sections of The Hawk Newspaper

    • Advised all science and health pieces across all verticals

    • Helped develop the content (campus, Philadelphia-area, national, and global coverage) that won the paper an Associated Collegiate Press Pacemaker Award

    • Profiled the top college journalists and college publications in the country

    • Created a live-tweeted article on graduate journalism programs featured on the homepage of the Global Investigative Journalism Network and other international outlets

    • Contributed to running daily columns on the platform, many of which were cross posted on other mainstream media platforms (e.g., The Huffington Post and USA TODAY College)

    • Developed original, exclusive content for NBC News and its local affiliates

    • Managed the Digital News Desk for the fourth-largest media market

    • Actualized critical information for breaking news events using only social media

    • Led teams of over 50 young adult volunteers in caring for the zoos' endangered and extinct-in-the-wild species

    • Organized press events, promotional programs, and outreach in the local community to broaden and diversify the audience of the zoos' work

    • Supported the zoos' missions of conservation through developing education campaigns and live presentations for millions of visitors daily

    • Collaborate with partners on an NSF grant looking at historically minoritized groups within science communication

    • Maintained the SONA Research Systems (platforms to connect researchers with participant pools, both for student credit and paid non-MSU participants) for the College of Communication Arts and Sciences

    • Created campaigns to bring in new demographics of participants

    • Formulated new funding avenues to allow the expansion of the platforms

    • Digitized the records for the systems

    • Managed a team of 26 graduate and undergraduate researchers in caring for endangered and extinct-in-the-wild species in five laboratories
